1. Weather resistance, oil resistance, solvent resistance, and chemical resistance

The main chain of fluorosilicone rubber is a Si-O bond structure, which is a saturated chain, so it has excellent air aging resistance. Its rubber test piece can still maintain good elasticity after five years of outdoor exposure test; after up to 10 years, Under ultraviolet light and harsh weather conditions, its physical properties have only minor changes. The tensile strength and elongation at break of samples placed in different locations have decreased by less than 25%.

Compared with methyl vinyl silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber has excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance, and chemical resistance; even when compared with fluororubber, it has good oil and solvent resistance. After immersing in the same medium, temperature and time, it shows excellent durability. Fluorosilicone rubber has better resistance to methanol-containing gasoline. Even in a gasoline/methanol mixture, the hardness, tensile strength, and volume change of the vulcanized rubber are very small. 2. Heat resistance

Compared with fluororubber, fluorosilicone rubber has excellent heat aging resistance, especially the retention rate of physical properties at high temperature.

Compared with silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber reduces the heat resistance of fluorosilicone rubber to a certain extent due to the presence of trifluoropropyl group. The reason is that trifluoropropyl group is easily thermally decomposed, and the decomposition produces highly acidic compounds that accelerate fluorine. Thermal aging reaction of silicone rubber. The high temperature decomposition of fluorosilicone rubber is the same as that of silicone rubber, namely: side chain oxidation, main chain rupture, side chain thermal decomposition and various compound reactions. Since the decomposition products can also cause the main chain to break, the heat resistance is usually worse than that of silicone rubber, and it has begun to oxidize and age at a temperature of 200°C. Temperature has greater influence on fluorosilicone rubber than silicone rubber, but less than fluoroelastomer. Foreign countries have also studied the service life of fluorosilicone rubber at 150℃×2000h, 175℃×5000h, and 200℃×4000h. The result is second only to methyl vinyl silicone rubber.

3. Low temperature performance

Like ordinary silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber has good low temperature performance. Since fluorosilicone rubber is a linear polymer composed of soft Si-O as the main chain, its low temperature characteristics are better than those of fluoroelastomers with C-C as the main chain. First of all, the molecular backbone of fluorosilicone rubber is relatively flexible, giving it excellent cold resistance. Secondly, the molecular chain of fluorosilicone rubber is in a helical configuration. The flexibility of the molecular chain is greater than that of the CC bond or the Si-C bond. The interaction force between the molecular chains is weak. These structural features make it soft and elastic. When it changes, the intermolecular force changes very little, so its various properties, especially elasticity, change little, making it have low-temperature performance that other rubbers can’t match. Third, the presence of trifluoropropyl substituted methyl can destroy the regularity of the polydimethylsiloxane molecular chain, reduce the crystallization temperature and degree of crystallization of the polymer, and make fluorosilicone rubber have a better low temperature than silicone rubber Sex. 4. Electrical insulation and radiation resistance

The electrical performance of fluorosilicone rubber is similar to that of ordinary silicone rubber. Except for high frequency and high voltage electrical environment, its electrical insulation performance can reach the use level. The electrical insulation performance changes little under severe conditions such as high temperature, low temperature, humidity, oil, solvent, chemicals, ozone, etc. The radiation resistance of fluorosilicone rubber is not outstanding, but the radiation aging resistance is better than that of methyl vinyl silicone rubber.
